Description
Sion is an application designed to work on a long-term personal project alongside your peers—a session with intent and a «progress log, ” a staged project structure, and a private group of 3–8 friends without cameras or strangers. Within the project, you will explore research, product design, brand platforms, logos, and the custom typeface Selvage, complete with the „Faska“ display font set.
The Problem
A long project undertaken alone rarely reaches completion.1. Loneliness makes it tedious—and difficult to start. This is a common struggle for students: «I can’t start, ” and „I feel lonely“ frequently go hand-in-hand—around 40 out of 95 testimonies reported this. 2. Tools become tiresome. „Everything works for about four days until the novelty wears off”—be it timers, blockers, or gamification. 3. Cameras and strangers—shame and risk. „I don’t want to be on camera. I don’t want to look productive.“The current solution is to call friends or use a timer like Forest. More often, it’s „that’s just how it is.“ The enemy isn’t competitors; it’s habit.

Solution
Session, Project, and Your Group.
- Session. Start with an intention, use a timer, and at the end, record «what was done» and provide a self-reflection on focus. It works for solo work. You can mark the recording as «for me only”—it will go into the project history, but not into the group feed.
- Phased Project. Closed stages and entries accumulate in the project history.
- Your Group (3–8 people). Invitation-only. You can see who is currently in a session and join in. Group slots, reactions, and a two-week window: set a goal at the beginning and review the outcome at the end.
Classroom
Those tackling long-term projects without a close deadline.
Anya, 21. Design student, 3rd Year. Project: course work, followed by thesis. Challenge: starting on her own. Tried: calls with a friend, Forest. Needs: accountability—someone to see her at work.
Artyom, 24. Freelancer, designer, and developer. Project: a portfolio side project between client assignments. Challenge: working alone, «no one to truly talk to, someone who would understand.» Tried: Focusmate—"too sterile,» with strangers. Needs: rhythm and a record of progress.
Both use Telegram (students—90.7%); 61% aged 18–29 have a VPN; and 53% do not turn on their cameras during calls.
Product: Main loop
First entry → home — live → session → session summary → invitation → window summary.
Prototype
Working in the spotlight with your peers. A clickable prototype with 12 screens. One session: launch card $\rightarrow$ session, time in the tab header $\rightarrow$ logging «what was done» $\rightarrow$ posting to the group feed $\rightarrow$ reaction.
Selvage Font
Sion’s proprietary typeface. Selvage—the fabric’s edge, derived from «self» + «edge.» Latin, Cyrillic, and the «Faska» display set.
Chamfer
Stylistic set ss01: all curves have been replaced with 45° facets, serif brackets are chamfered, and spheres have been replaced with sharp spikes. On the left, the set is off; on the right, it is on: tails, beaks, numbers, blocks.
