Even when I was getting my first vocational education, we, young students, were instilled with a certain aesthetic. The internet was not flooded with generated images and videos. Yet, even then, in the realm of original animation, there was a deep love for the uneven, the textured, the crooked—for the living.

Not only does the world of authorial animation value and cherish the trace of handcrafted work. Commercial animation distribution was delighted by the style of Tom Moore’s cartoons, who did not strive for perfect lines. Furthermore, the creators of this work intentionally left the artists' preparatory lines in the final frames. The 2020 film «WolfWalkers» serves as a vivid example.

Overall, we like it.However, the animation labor market quickly pigeonholes recent graduates. He ends up working in vector graphics on children’s animation series. The artist’s hand forgets the tremor and uncertainty that once brought his work to life.

In today’s world of the artificial and the ideal, people increasingly lack the tangible and the real!

When this client approached me, he was looking for someone to bring a fairytale to life in his music video.My task was to animate the forest, but in such a way that the squirrel in the tree wouldn’t just interest the viewer—it would mesmerize them!We settled on a decision: the animation would be executed in a loose, sketchy style. This successfully created a sense of magic and fairytale in the woods.

Structure the approach into sequential stages and actions with a clear order. Specify milestones regarding timelines, roles, and outcomes for each stage. The plan must be readable as a navigable route.

Describe the metrics and frequency by which progress will be measured. Show which metrics signify success and which indicate a deviation. The control system makes the plan manageable and reduces the risk of uncertainty.

Synthesize all the logic into a concise, final model: state, approach, actions, and result control. Demonstrate how the elements relate to each other and where they lead. The final screen should transition the discussion toward launch or approval.
