I TRANSLATE IDEAS INTO DISTINCTIVE VISUAL IDENTITIES
01. THE PROBLEM
How can typography capture the atmosphere of a frozen fairytale?
The challenge was to translate the cold, mysterious world of Hans Christian Andersen’s The Snow Queen and the harsh beauty of the North into a distinctive typographic style.
02. THE SOLUTION
Transforming snow and frost into letterforms.
Gerda is a display serif inspired by winter landscapes and fairytale imagery. Its defining feature is the unusual counter-shapes formed between letters, reminiscent of snowballs or punched holes. Delicate punctuation and the absence of ascenders and descenders in the Latin alphabet reinforce its distinctive character.
03. THE RESULT
A typeface with its own character.
Gerda brings a bold, wintry aesthetic to posters, banners, music videos, and social media, transforming typography into an expressive visual element.
I transform abstract ideas into visual concepts that challenge conventional ways of seeing the world
01. THE PROBLEM
How can a calendar represent time without measuring it?
The challenge was to reimagine the conventional calendar as a means of perceiving time. Instead of presenting time as a linear sequence, the project explores how different civilizations have experienced it through cycles, events, rituals, and myths.
02. THE SOLUTION
Capturing all moments in a single point.
The anti-calendar synthesizes various perceptions of time into one object. Rather than tracking days or dates, it challenges the notion that time can be quantified and transforms the calendar into an artifact of memory.
