From Sketch to Space
SCENOGRAPHY — EVENTS — VISUAL DESIGN

I am Asya.
I am an artist who explores the intersection of space, image, and storytelling. My work begins with drawing, visual research, and hands-on experimentation, gradually transforming ideas into scenographic concepts.
I am always open to connecting with fellow creatives, exchanging ideas, and developing projects together.
How do I approach a project?
I develop visual worlds through a hands-on artistic process—from initial sketches and material exploration to spatial concepts and model-making. My practice combines visual research, drawing, and physical experimentation to translate ideas and dramaturgy into scenographic solutions.

Selected Works
The following projects reflect my approach to visual storytelling—from interpreting a character to imagining an entire theatrical environment.
I create visual experiences through space, scenography, and events.

THEATER
I. The Bacchae
A scenographic reinterpretation of Euripides’ tragedy, set in a Soviet-era agricultural research institute surrounded by a swamp.
SCENOGRAPHY

The Challenge
The task was to develop a scenographic concept that brings the conflict between scientific control and the untamed forces of nature into the theatrical space. The Idea
In this interpretation, the Bacchae are depicted as wild plants growing inside a greenhouse within a scientific research institute. What starts as a controlled experiment gradually turns into a confrontation between rational order and untamed nature. The greenhouse becomes a transparent boundary between two worlds: a space of observation and control that eventually transforms into a site of ecstatic freedom and transformation. The Result
The scenographic concept culminates in the Bacchae escaping the institute. In the final transformation, Pentheus becomes a tree growing outside the institution.

COSTUMES
II. The Wizard
Students of the HSE Art and Design School and Theater MTUZ collaboration
A costume design project for a theatrical adaptation of Tove Jansson’s Moomin stories.

The Challenge
The task was to develop a costume concept for the Wizard, creating a distinctive stage image that reflects his personality and character. The Idea
The Wizard is eccentric, cheerful, and powerful. His love of bright colors and beautiful stones became the starting point for the costume design. I translated these qualities into an expressive silhouette, playful details, and a combination of shapes and colors. The Result
The final costume combines a sculptural hat, brightly colored clothing, and exaggerated footwear.EVENTS
