ABOUT
Diana Ivanova
Fashion Designer

I work with concepts and translate them into a compelling visual language. For me, design is a way to explore ideas, discover unexpected visual connections, and express them through form, imagery, and detail. I believe every design decision should be driven by a clear idea that gives the project its overall coherence.
DESIGN APPROACH

By exploring construction, volume, silhouette distortion, and material manipulation, I translate ideas into expressive design solutions. I experiment with form, proportions, textures, and the ways different materials interact with one another. I believe that the right creative approach enables the development of a distinctive visual language.
MY PROCESS
Research and exploration — concept development — experimentation with materials, textures, and prints — collection development — production preparation.

Design SketchesA distinct series of design sketches in which form, construction, and silhouette are developed to serve and reinforce the overarching concept.

Unique TexturesExperimenting with materials and diverse surface treatments allows me to create distinctive textures that imbue each piece with depth, character, and a palpable dimension.

PrintsDeveloping original prints that extend the concept and strengthen the collection’s visual language. Exploring imagery, composition, and scale allows me to create distinctive graphic solutions.
DESIGN PROJECTS
INTRUSION
How can the conflict between a person’s inner self and outward appearance be translated into a visual language?

The project explores duality—the opposing sides of the human self that exist in conflict with one another while simultaneously complementing each other. The primary visual reference is Ingmar Bergman’s film Persona.
The collection explores this concept through silhouette transformation, asymmetry, and layering.
The prints are based on imagery from the sea, one of the film’s key visual elements. Water also serves as an important visual motif in the collection.
LIMINAL
How does an individual shape their identity and forge their own path, starting from virtually nothing?

The project explores how individuals shape their own life paths. Through personal choices, experiences, and the challenges they overcome, people gradually build their careers, develop their character, and discover their interests. Identity is not something predetermined; it is shaped over time, much like a structure that gradually takes form.
Pleating becomes the central metaphor for this process. Each fold represents a stage of personal development, accumulated experience, or an obstacle overcome.
Through the manipulation of fabric, the gradual formation of individuality is translated into construction, form, and volume.
