Greetings, I’m Anastasya Degteva, and this is my animation portfolio : ^)I specialize in 2D frame-by-frame animation and also experiment with stop motion and combining hand-drawn characters with live-action footage.
Why did you choose animation as the medium for your narrative?
1. Full creative freedom. In animation, nothing exists until you draw it; nothing moves until you animate it; no sounds are made until you drop them in. Therefore, every individual in the creation process can decide what the story looks like and how it unfolds, allowing you to clearly convey the emotions you wish your audience to experience.
2. A labor of love. In an age where audiences are growing weary of AI and superficial, quick profits, almost everyone understands the time investment required to complete an animation project. When you commit the time, passion, and labor necessary to produce animation, you demonstrate how much you value your audience. That is how loyalty is built—by showing that you care.
3. Fun! Animation is inherently engaging to watch. Even an advertisement for cough medicine can look enticing when brought to life through animation.
I invite you to look at my work :)
Short animated films

«Life Under Cover»Authors: Anastasya Degteva, Sofia Dorozhinskaya, Vika YrievaA cucumber and a tomato fall in love at first sight, but their roots are tightly bound by the old Farmer. By miracle, they end up pickled in the same jar and now must face the grim reality of living together in a small flat where tenderness quickly devolves into chaos. Yet love persists, and their reconciliation sparks an infectious passion throughout the flat complex. Filled with a longing for love, the pickled vegetables succumb to their feelings, shattering the glass walls of a world built by someone else.2D frame-by-frame animation, stop motion, collage backgrounds.

This one is a standout. Our Cucumber and Tomato has been featured at countless animation festivals across Russia—from small indie showcases to the chic interiors of Moscow. Soon, our vegetable friends will be flying to London for LIAF 2026; wish them luck!

Excluding directing and writing the script—as that required a significant, shared effort from all three authors—my contribution to this project involved: — Production Designer (determining the overall visual aesthetic of the film) — Background Artist — Sound Designer — Compositing — Stop Motion Animation
