studio

The studio workshop audience comprises Moscow’s creative youth—students from art universities. These participants are drawn from existing grassroots communities, guests, and friends connected to related projects. The project does not require a large number of people to exist, but one of the workshop’s goals is to forge new social connections.
For a person from a different, slightly more atomized context, it is crucial to feel that they are surrounded not by anonymous neighbors, but by familiar and comprehensible people…
Space and Program
The workshop builds upon the experience of similar existing projects. For instance, the «Social Blossom Circle» initiative successfully formed a small creative community that attends the project’s workshops and festivals. The «issmag» gallery is housed in a comparable industrial space, and the gallery courtyard served as a lively, unique gathering point.
…shift the focus from the artist to the viewer, who can actively participate creatively in the creation of the work—and this work will affect them much more deeply than if they simply viewed it in a gallery.
