I look for a sense of security in things. Shopping helps me calm down and hide from problems for a little while. In «Shelter, ” this method of protection becomes literal: fabric covers anxious thoughts.

I asked loved ones to write down their anxieties, and I did the same. Four canvases were covered with different handwriting. Over the notes, I affixed strips of fabric, leaving certain words exposed.

For the collage, I used my childhood Winx sheet. This item is tied to a personal history and the feeling of domestic comfort. The object that once covered me is transformed into a protective layer over the text.

I block off most of the text, but I leave gaps. Through these gaps, individual words are visible. The anxiety doesn’t disappear—it just changes in how much of it can be seen.
