This project is designed to engage a P2P audience, specifically creative professionals interested in art, design, and conceptual experiences.
My name is Varvara,
I am a graphic designer and illustrator interested in the intersection of visual identity, art, and culture.
I am looking to connect with designers, artists, and photographers! I am open to collaborations.
A space for creation.
A language in itself.
«Shades» is a conceptual space at the intersection of a gallery, a café, and a hub for exchange. It brings together people, ideas, and objects, exploring the narratives that shape our sense of identity.
How can an object tell a story?
Objects outlive moments. They pass between people, carrying traces of the past and acquiring new meanings over time. The challenge was to translate this idea into a visual identity that connects the space, its communication, and its physical objects.

Every object leaves a trace.
Inspired by the semiotics of Charles Sanders Peirce, the project explores how objects function as signs. Their meaning extends beyond their physical form, revealing fragments of personal history, cultural context, and identity. The object becomes both the subject of the story and a means of interpreting it.
Making meaning visible.
The visual identity translates the concept into a system of images, textures, and type. Fragmented lettering, layered imagery, blurred contours, and material references create a sense of traces and accumulated meaning. The visual language remains deliberately experimental, allowing each composition to reveal a different fragment of the same story.
An Invitation to Enter.
The invitation marks the first point of contact with shades.
Letters and printed materials carry the brand identity into the hands of the audience.
A Public Narrative.

The poster system integrates visual language into the surrounding environment.
Expressive typography, contrasting textures, and recurring imagery establish a recognizable presence across different formats.
The identity moves from the printed page into space, becoming part of the environment itself.
THE COMPLETE SYSTEM.
Different forms. One visual language.

From invitations and posters to everyday objects, each element contributes to the identity of shades.
