Hey, I’m Zhibek Mukanova (silkflouri). I draw and animate—2D animation, illustrations. I’m drawn to simple stories and quiet moments, the ones easy to miss. That’s where I find beauty. Call it naïve—I call it looking closely.

What I Do
My practice encompasses frame-by-frame 2D animation—both digital and traditional hand-drawn—alongside illustration.

Simple Stories

Simple stories are what I do best—small moments, quiet characters, a feeling you remember longer than a slogan.
For a brand, this can become its own branch of communication: a short, hand-drawn animation, a series of illustrations, a character that lives across posts and products. Something warm and human that complements your main promotion—and makes people stop, look, and feel.
PRINCESS GONE MISSING — short animated film

A short animated film about a royal family traveling by carriage. Suddenly, the carriage runs into trouble—a wheel breaks, and the journey turns into an unexpected story.
The Eye Around — illustration series for a calendar

A series of illustrations following a character who explores and lives through her everyday reality. In each of her actions, there is a watching, accompanying presence that lends the scenes a touch of the fantastical.

VASILYOK — short animated film
A short animated film created with the wonderful artist Ally Golovanova (@frommwonder). On Ivan Kupala night, a bored Vasilisa sits alone, lost in thought—the celebration feels like a waste of time to her. But when her friends bring her along anyway, the day transforms into an emotional adventure, bringing her the warmth and calm she has been longing for.

You’ve probably noticed—I love color, warmth, and the small details that bring a scene to life. That’s how I tell stories.
If your brand has a message, I can translate it into a narrative.
