Hi! I’m Alesya Abazova, an animation director and ethnic artist
My work is inspired by Circassian culture, mythology, and personal experiences. I create culturally inspired and independent animated films, illustrations, and art objects, experimenting with different techniques and materials.
I’m also the creator of the board games Sosruko and Millet Seeds, a finalist of the nationwide Native Toy competition, and a recipient of the Pride of Kabardino-Balkaria award in the Nugget of Elbrus category for my contribution to culture.
WHAT I DO?
My primary focus is animation. Through my work, I aim to reveal the beauty of culture and the human soul, expressing emotions and narratives through visual imagery.
This approach permeates everything I create: independent and commercial animated films, illustrations, porcelain pieces, jewelry, and other handmade objects.
I pour a piece of myself into every project, seeking out its unique atmosphere and emotional depth—whether I am bringing my own idea to life or interpreting a client’s story.

What consequences will his greed bring? 2D frame-by-frame animation, cut-out animationI wanted to bring a female figure from Circassian mythology to life and introduce viewers to the story of Adiyukh.

Alesya Abazova · 2024 Inyzh, a one-eyed giant, steals the fire from the Narts, leaving their city frozen in ice. Only the brave Sosruko dares to set out and bring it back. Can he defeat the giant and save his people? 3D animationI wanted to capture the atmosphere of the Nart epic through a story of courage, resourcefulness, and the fight to save one’s people.
