Ivan Shutov, Animator and Illustrator
Who is this guy?
Ivan Shutov, 21 y.o., animation and illustration, has experience working with non-profit organizations and commissioning clients. I bring a lively, wild touch to animation, love to work on unique character designs, and build thoughtful yet fun worlds.
Animation
«Soda Can»
One of my most recent animation works is a music video for the song «Soda Can» by the band «Arizona Dream,» with all of the visuals for the project done solo.
It is a short, two-minute music video about an office worker whose only respite—the titular soda can—was left at home. I was tasked with developing the concept and screenplay entirely on my own, with the only guidance provided being the visual style of the work and some reference material for the band’s characters.
All characters other than the protagonist were based on existing designs used by the band’s members and adapted to the animation’s style.
I’ve decided to manage the workload by developing the six featured characters in separate, unrelated storylines, which will unfold throughout the music video and converge when they all finally share that long-sought-after soda can.
Here is the finalized version of the music video.
Illustration
«Possession»
These illustrations were created for my upcoming short film, which features a collector and her unique, malevolent find—one that yearns for adoration.
