I make the invisible visible.

Hi! I’m Kislova, 21 y.o.
I am a student at the HSE Art and Design School, focusing on comics. My practice involves sequential storytelling, photography, zines, and print media.
My work exists at the intersection of personal narrative and formal experimentation—I search for those moments when a constraint (be it speed, distance, or silence) transforms into the method itself. I have hands-on experience with book layout, typesetting, and print production—ranging from preparing files for offset and Risograph to working with paper stocks, binding, and small-edition runs.
I am open to commissions and collaborations in editorial illustration, comic projects, zine publishing, and visual storytelling for both print and digital platforms.

Three projects. One principle.
Each work follows the same narrative architecture: Problem → Idea → Solution → Results
by a detour.
*в объезд.
An anti-travel journal. Photographs taken from a moving car.
PROBLEM
I couldn’t stop. The road demanded continuous motion. Landmarks, faces, the «main» view remained forever outside the frame.
IDEA
Turn the limitation into the method. Make the peripheral—fog, road markings, fields, mountains—the only available image.
SOLUTION
A series of deliberately blurred, sideways photographs. The viewer inherits the same forced blindness.
RESULTS
An anti-travel journal documenting speed, absence, and the impossibility of arrival rather than specific destinations.
bead
*бусина
Comic biography. Not about what was given away—but about what was received.
PROBLEM
How can one tell a life story without reducing it to loss or sacrifice? Conventional biography often focuses on what was given away.
IDEA
Invert the narrative. Make the comic about the new gaze, the overcoming of fear, and the impulse toward growth that remains.
SOLUTION
A comic biography structured around reception rather than renunciation. A visual language that embraces both vulnerability and forward motion.
RESULTS
A complete comic-biography module that reframes personal history as a site of gain—new vision, courage, and self-directed change.
Hometown
*Родной город
Zine. The first time far from home—and the discovery that the city had already settled inside.
