Eleven interviews with local historians, compiled and provided by the media outlet «In the Forests, ” were used as material for the catalog.
«In the Forests» is a media outlet dedicated to the regional heritage of Russia, publishing all of its content exclusively in digital format. For example, interviews from the «Local Historian Career» section previously existed only as cards on social media.
My task was to gather all the interviews published on social media for the «In the Forests» project and compile them into a single collection.
Consolidating these texts into one publication allows readers to examine them not as isolated posts in a feed, but collectively, forming a coherent understanding of the material. Most of the interviews asked the local historians the same questions, such as: «Who benefits more from local history research—tourists or local residents?» or «How do you feel about the term ‘new local history research’?» Thanks to this collection, readers can compare the responses of different interviewees, see the similarities and differences in their perspectives, and look at the discussed issues in a new light.
