Ideas that can be cut, sewn, and worn.
Three projects: from a research-based concept to a tabletop pattern and a collection in the language of a fashion house.
I’m Elizaveta, a fashion designer. I work through the entire lifecycle of a garment: from concept and research to pattern construction, tailoring, and design within an existing brand’s language. I am looking to collaborate with independent brands and creative studios on capsule collections.
Imagine: turning research into a collection. Build: constructing and sewing to a luxury standard. Translate: designing within a brand’s DNA.

Collection of three looks + animation
How do you translate Björk’s convergence of technology, nature, and mythology into clothing so that it reads as a unified image?
The project explores how technology shapes the visual language of Björk’s work. The swan, a symbol from Icelandic legends, became a signature element of her aesthetics and points back to cultural heritage. Integrating digital technology into the context of nature and mythology is her unique form of self-expression. The result is a singular image—technological, yet deeply rooted in national tradition.

swan.avi project presentation/process
Research into nature, technology, and mythology informed her work, resulting in a digital swan—sculpted, textured, and animated with a 3D artist—and a collection of three looks built on the same concept (knitted structures, silicone details).

Comme des Garçons jacket: a study replica
Build
Pattern construction and tailoring
To recreate a Comme des Garçons jacket using materials, hardware, construction, and technology closely mirroring the original, working solely from photographs of the finished garment.
The module assigned four tasks: analyze the model’s construction and technology; identify the brand’s design and production features; study complex modeling of lined garments and the finishing of each piece; and create a replica using materials and hardware closely matching the original. My approach involved deconstructing the garment from its photographs and rebuilding it, seam by seam.
Patterns drafted by me from photographs. Fabric: 100% cotton and 100% wool, chosen to match the original. Tailored with luxury-level finishing, in line with the original.
A finished jacket that adheres to the prototype’s construction and finishing. I can create a producible pattern from limited information and finish it to a premium standard.

Comme des Garçons DNA collection
How do you work within the DNA of a building without imitating it?
In this module, I engaged with Rei Kawakubo’s methodologies, deconstructing a metaphor within the very structure of the collection. The foundation is the black sheep—an image of otherness, a symbol of quiet dissent, and the inner strength required to be different. The project reflects difference, vulnerability, and confidence in one’s own trajectory, while maintaining the spirit of Comme des Garçons.
Seven-part research on the brand, followed by sketches, fabrics, prints, and final looks.
A collection that maintains the language of the house while telling its own story. I can study a brand’s code and create something new within it.
