Frame-by-Frame 2D Animation & Illustration
A selection of projects exploring motion, character, and narrative—from experimental studies to real-world collaborations.
My three core principles are:✳ Flexibility: I carefully immerse myself in the brief and adapt techniques to meet the project’s true needs.✳ Subtlety & Wit: I appreciate fluid motion, meticulous detail, and a calm yet lively tone.✳ Problem-Solving: I am not afraid to explore unconventional angles, compositions, and dynamic experimentation.

Promo Image ✳ Frame-by-Frame 2D Animation
Duration: 2:30 ✳ Timeline: 4 months ✳ 2025

For this promotional image presenting a volunteer mentorship program, the main challenge was framing the initiative as both a compelling advertisement and an inspiring video within 2.5 minutes. Working with an established raccoon mascot, I had to adhere strictly to the existing brand guidelines and palette while still resonating with kids, parents, and sponsors. I developed a coming-of-age narrative around the mascot—casting him as an older brother and mentor—and employed fog as a universal metaphor for childhood uncertainty. Building upon the client’s original concept and layout, I rewrote the script, managed the frame-by-frame animation, and designed the soundscape. The video is now featured on the organization’s resources, demonstrating my capacity to respect established brand canons while effectively shaping material to connect with diverse audiences.

Morning…
Short Film from Studies ✳ Five Animation Techniques
Role: Author, Animator ✳ Timeline: 2 months ✳ 2024

This short film merges two distinct academic exercises into a continuous narrative. The first task required a dynamic study utilizing active camera angles and morphing, which was followed by a walk cycle executed across five different techniques. To unify these elements, I centered the story on a protagonist grappling with the universal struggle of getting out of bed. As the character moves through the house, a beam of light streaming from the window acts as a natural bridge between styles—seamlessly shifting from puppet animation to pencil sketch, 3D, digital 2D, and collage. The project demonstrates how technical constraints can be woven into an engaging and fluid narrative.

Kids' Animated Short ✳ Frame-by-Frame 2D Animation ✳ Teamwork
Role: Clean-up animation, partial animatic, scriptwriting collaboration, sound design and editing
Duration: 4:20 ✳ Timeline: 6 months ✳ Team: Vasiliy Razorenov, Grigory Kiselev, Anastasia Sherstneva ✳ 2025

Created as a collaborative short film, this project explores what happens when a long-awaited New Year’s kitten must be returned due to a mother’s allergy. Since each of the three team members had a distinct artistic background, our main challenge was finding a comfortable creative and visual compromise. I took charge of clean-up animation, contributed to the animatic, and shaped the audio landscape. The resulting film expanded to over four minutes and was selected for the university’s official showcase (HSE Animation Highlights), reflecting my capability to collaborate, resolve creative differences, and bring a complex project to a polished finish.

Animated Music Video ✳ Original Frame-by-Frame 2D Animation
Client: Musician snowyarty ✳ Track: snowyarty — re: define
Role: Character design, concept, scriptwriting, and animation
Duration: 3:30 ✳ Timeline: 6 months ✳ 2026

Created for musician snowyarty, this animated music video explores escapism through the story of a carefree notary who ignores surrounding chaos, entirely focused on his passion for studio dance. Following a strict brief that required no text in the frame to ensure global understanding, I built the narrative entirely from scratch. From character design to a storyboard meticulously synced with the track’s rhythm, the project relies completely on body language, close-ups, and color choices. Released across major platforms, it demonstrates my capacity to guide a large-scale music project from concept to final release.
