The story of Narcissus, a beautiful young man who fell in love with his own reflection and turned into a flower, is well known, as is the disorder named after him. Narcissism is excessive, pathological vanity and self-admiration, which has no real basis. Generally, the first impression of a person with narcissistic personality disorder is admiration, because these people do a lot to impress. At the same time, it is not always possible to recognize a narcissist right away: there is a thing called «hidden narcissism». A hidden narcissist may appear outwardly modest and aloof in his dealings with others, but their ultimate goal remains the same: to gain admiration by manipulating others
Violet corresponds to the lowest wavelength radiation that the human eye can perceive. It is followed by ultraviolet and X-rays. And this means that the objects around us have properties that we do not even know exist. X-rays pass through different substances with different intensities and thus «see through» the objects: make the hidden visible. It is this feature of the transition from the invisible to the visible that I use in my project, exposing the true interests of the hidden narcissist.
