The traditional Chinese funeral ceremony embodies profound philosophical reflections on life, nature, and time. Through the ritual of «returning to the earth,» it signifies the cyclical return of life to nature. The concept of yin and yang interprets the boundaries between life and death, expressing thoughts on the continuity of life. The burning of joss paper and offerings symbolize the enduring connection and remembrance between the living and the departed. Additionally, family rituals emphasize the significance of bloodline continuity and cultural heritage. These elements collectively form a profound concern for the essence of life and its value, revealing the intricate and profound philosophical implications between life and death.
The author captures the connection between the funeral of a loved one and the surrounding objects, exploring the meaning of existence and demise, and interweaves visual memories through the ashes left after the material burns.

After Becoming Ashes
I lie within the embrace of flames, A single leaf falls, and the whole forest echoes. Artificial flowers whisper in the breeze, Joss paper transforms into butterflies, Flying deep into the recesses of memory.
The house crumbles, yet the hues of its bricks remain, Furs, scorched into the color of the sky, I drift in the wind, seeking the outlines of each other.
The final page, bearing unfinished words, Ashes are the last words, In the wind, seeking the outlines of each other.
