In my work, I draw a parallel between «architectural fantasies» and «paper architecture». Comparison of these two phenomena shows how the perception of the world has changed between the eras of modernity and postmodernity.
The sculpture is a kind of collage of the works of Brodsky, Utkin and Chernikhov.

Scheme of the upper sculptural part, which quotes composition № 24 by Yakov Chernikhov from the book «Architectural fantasies. 101 compositions in colors» 1933

The lower part quotes the work of Alexander Brodsky and Ilya Utkin «Bridge over the abyss in the high mountains» 1987.

«Bridge over the abyss…» tells about the precarious position of the architectural heritage, the ideas of the past, over the abyss of the new faceless time. I replaced the crystal dome with a monumental plant, which also stands over the abyss, but due to its size, cannot fall into it. He is more likely to give birth to new ideas than to become a victim of oblivion.
Maybe the new era is mocking the past, but it has nowhere to go from it.
